Girls Team

Champion Gymnastics is home to a variety of competitive girls teams from pre team through optional levels, including Xcel. To learn more about our team girls, keep reading below!

Levels 6 through 10

Optional gymnasts perform more complex skills in individualized, choreographed routines developed by our highly trained coaching staff. Athletes are scored on each event for Level of difficulty, execution, artistry and originality.  Emphasis on skill progression makes our Optional team the right fit for a driven gymnast.

Level 6 is the first chance for athletes to showcase their USAG Optional skills.  This level can compete up to and including the State Competition.

Gymnasts in Levels 7, 8, 9, & 10 learn upper level gymnastics and can advance to the Region 5 Competition based on their performance at the state meet.  Levels 9 & 10 also have the opportunity to advance to the National Competition. An athlete in Level 10 who places high enough in the All Around at Nationals may be considered for the Junior Olympic National Team.

Levels 1, 2 & 3

Our Pre-Team program provides entry-level competition within the Junior Olympic guidelines.  Focus is on fundamental skills, strength and flexibility requirements. This makes Pre-Team an essential building block for success in the sport.

Athletes practice Level 1, 2, or 3 routines based on skill level and advance on up as they master USAG required skills.  Gymnasts participate in "Fun Meets" to gain confidence in a competition setting.

Levels Competitive 3, 4, & 5

Compulsory gymnasts continue to build on the skills learned in the Pre-team program. Gymnasts are required to perform the styles and techniques developed by USA Gymnastics for each level. Emphasis in Compulsory gymnastics is on form, posture, & presentation, and the requirements become more challenging as a gymnast moves from level to level.

The compulsory levels provide gymnasts with a foundation of competition skills and athletes are allowed to compete for individual & team placement awards. Competitive opportunities are provided both locally and out of state with the season culminating at the
Michigan State Meet.

Silver, Gold, & Platinum

Our Xcel program offers an affordable alternative to competitive gymnastics for ages 9 and up. With less time and financial commitment than the traditional Junior Olympic teams, the Xcel program provides a team atmosphere with emphasis on skill development.

These athletes compete optional routines on all four events at USAG sanctioned Xcel meets, including State and Regional Competitions.
